Palliative care is care that focuses on quality of life by managing treatment side effects and lessening the patients’ pain and discomfort. As a caregiver, it is important for you to understand your loved one’s level of comfort throughout the cancer journey and, if needed, advocate to include palliative care during treatment. Palliative care can be done by itself or at the same time as other treatments, and can be used at any age and during any stage of cancer treatment. To learn more about palliative care and palliative care options available at N.C.
